  1. The meaning of this beautiful story is that people always take advantage from nature. When they are young they want to play and they just want to have fun so they don’t care about time. While they are getting older they start thinking about money and what other people do and have. After those years they become adults and they only care about their selves and family. Suddenly when they are elders they understand that the word they live is starting changing dramatically and they can’t save it or make it better cause they don’t have time either energy. This is happening because people always want more than they can provide and in every stage of their life they miss something. A child has time and energy and they miss money but an adult has money and not enough energy and time , an elder doesn’t have time neither energy and the most of the time no money. That’s why you should always be grateful for what you have because at some point of your life you will wish you had what you have now.

  2. The purpose of the story is to make us realise that nature is loving and giving to man. But, instead, man takes advantage of nature and only takes things away from it and gives nothing back, such as love, care and respect. In the end the environment is destroyed and the health and happiness of humans are destroyed as well. Consequently, we have to learn not only to take from nature but also appreciate and take care of it.

  3. The purpose of the book is to show the joy of giving and the idea of unconditional love. It's about love and friendship. Reading the story about the love of an apple tree for a boy, we can think different metphors of this relationship. The giving tree can be our mother, our parents and the selfish boy their children, or mother nature and the man who destroys natural sources for money.

  4. In my opinion, the book talks about something deeper beyond the unequal relationship between people and nature. It could refer more generally to the exploitation that exists in our world or even on how negatively, our love for people who don't appreciate the things we give and do for them , can affect us. About how people care, much more about materials than healthy, equal relationships, love and happiness.

  5. The book talks about a friendship between a tree and a little boy and how their relationship changes through the years. The boy as it's getting older wants more and more and becomes selfish. This story has a lot of meanings... We can describe the tree and the boy as a the parent and the selfish child in which the parent is willing to give everything to it's child to make it happy but the child takes advantage of that and wants more and more...

  6. he purpose of the story is to show us how someone can love us so much that always gives us and gives us stuff that makes US happy, even if they will get sad at the end and lose everything. There are people out there that put their love for others over everything else and sometimes don't realize that the love they give won't return to them. Love shouldn't be taken for granted because, if we lost it, we could even die...

  7. The purpose of this special story is to make us realise how a friendship between a tree and a little boy changes as the years go by. When the people are young they want just to play and have fun and they don't care about things that concern them adults. As the years go by and they grow up thay startting worry about things like money. After many years they become adults and they only care for themselves and family. Then realise that they are in a bad situation and they are sad but they can't change that because they have no time and no energy. People are selfish and they ask for more than what nature offers them. So,we must always be grateful for what we have and appreciate all of them!

  8. The purpose of this story is to make us think about nature. Of how many things it's giving to the man[the little boy]. At a young age the boy only wants to play with the tree, eat it's apples , he wants hugs play with it's leaves , he only wants to love the tree. But when he grows up he wants money ,family, a boat...the tree gives him everything it has but..the boy never became REALLY happy!!deeper in that story we see human being so selfish and never be grateful for what they have! Love is more important than materials and stuff!So..its about love that nature gives to the man[people] and he rejects it and simply choose money and other stuff rather than love company and freedom than the tree gives to him.!

    1. I totally agree!!! This is the true actually. Many people put other things on their life top like money, business, and many other. But the most important in our life is love and family and home. You know, you must walk and run a long way until you find your home. Because nothing else replace our own home and family. You are very creative! Good job!!

    2. Elly, even though I had not read the story, you made me understand what was happening! Now that I have read the story I realized that you were very right with what you wrote. It is true that people want things for them all the time without thinking about others ... Sometimes they are selfish and immature! Anyway, you were very right with what you wrote! well done!! 9. This is a very sensitive story. The relationship between the tree and the boy is special. The boy all the time asks things from the tree without being happy. Instead the tree is happy to offer anything the bay wants. The purpose of this story is to understand that there are some people who aren't happy with anything but the nature helps people always wihout exchange.

  10. the meaning of this story is that people need more things that they actually have to and that nature give them these things. A tree had boy for its friend but in the years this friendship is going to become a hard job for the tree and an easy for the boy. The boy will want many things that the tree has so it's going to give them to the boy but the boy wants more and more things. The tree works hard to give the boy everything it can for him to to be happy because that's why friends are.The man because he grown up isn't now a friend but he really is using the tree for the things he wants to do. The tree gives him whatever he wants. Gives the boy enything but one day the tree doesn't have something else. The boy all that he needs no is somewhere to sit and because the tree doesn't have something else is giving him a sit. Sometimes people don't imagine what nature gives us, the tree felt good things for the boy and wanted to be friends but the boy needed things and wanted more, he didn't want a friend. The boy didn't really made the tree one of his friends, he made him a little bit, even at the end. So people giveand don't give back and don't imagive how others feel for example if they have them as friends, they need things and don't think of something different and others will be dissapointed.

  11. This story it is very beautiful and moving. It talks to us about a generous and friendly tree and a ungrateful boy. The nature is generous and gives to people a lot of things and products. But people want more and more things and they don't be satisfied with anything. In this story when the boy was young, he didn't want lot of things. He was happy when he ate apples and climbed on the tree. But when he grew up he didn't want to climb on the tree anymore, but he wanted money. He wanted a house and a boat and at the end he wanted a peaceful place to rest. All these times the tree gave something to the boy and when the boy was happy the tree was happy to. At the end when the man was old and tired there wasn'anything of the tree left.

  12. When i finished the reading of that story in no time I thought that it was the best story I've ever heard. It was so sensitive and fascinating at the same time and it brought me tears. I think that the main purpose of the story is that as human beings we make mistakes and sometimes we take everything for granded and we don't fight for all of those we want .It reminds me that life is not a bed of roses and we should all depend only on ourselves and rarely on others if we want to succeed
and be happy. It taught us never to put the key of our happiness in someone else's pocket. Also it rings me a bell about the relationship we all heve with our parents .Our parents give us whatever we want and the only thing that they want back as a reward is to give them something extremely important that we can't buy ,love. In other words the tree was our parents and the human was us, children. So we should respect and care about that people who help us and to cherish every moment with them just because someday they will leave and then we have to face life difficulties on our own .

  13. At the beginning of the story the boy and the tree were playing together. But,the boy kept growing older and caring less about the tree. Although the tree still wants for the boy yo be happy,so she gives him everything she has. I am not sure if the boy understands that, which makes me feel sad.Eventually at the end of the story, the boy and the tree are both happy. This is makes me feel happy to because they are spending time together after all.

  14. The purpose of this story is to make us think about nature's advantages. Nowadays, and I think always, our half life is what nature provides. For example, the greengrocer takes the fruits and the vegetables from his garden (the nature) and sells them to us and then we eat them to have a heathy life. It's also says about friendship between the nature and the humans. When we're young, we don't care about how time will pass, but when we're adults it's all about money and we forget playng with happiness and nature itself. But it will always be there, wating for us, but, the life of the environment is giving whatever important has to make us happy at least. We must care about nature and don't waist it only. Let's help our environment to make a better life for our planet, because without nature, life will not exist for anyone o the planet.

  15. What I've understood from this story is that all of us never stop asking for things that we think will make us happy but we forget that there are other, more beautiful and powerful things, friendship and love that they are the true reason to live for

  16. I think this story is trying to tell us that even though we always ask for new, maybe cooler things we forget that sometimes all we need is a good friend, who cares about us and who will always be there to give us a hug!
